Boombox and an audio journal where I finally share my guitar with you

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice the missing high E string, I broke it but have since re-strung it

I am testing out a new online cloud service called Boombox, it's similar to Dropbox in a number of ways because it will help me backup my files online, even though I will still mirror this to an external drive, just in case this wonderful startup runs into difficulties and sunsets. You know what these companies can be like. Alongside this I am also going to commit some files to Blocktunes too but I thought Boombox is worth trying out as I can share links and you will see a much more visual representation of the audio in a waveform form. I just drop my files into a folder on my laptop and they sync in the background.

I am using the free version for the moment but will be quite happy to pay $99 for the year and get 2TB of storqage which is a similar price to Dropbox. Hence I am not committing to this just yet, the capacity is massive though and bigger than the hard drive on my Mac!

So let's try it out with the file link below, an audio journal about recording, playing and learning guitar all over again after 20 years. I can remember quite a bit but my hands need work. I can at the very least create some samples with it for the Digitakt, now those would work nicely over on #blocktunes and I am going to test that tomorrow, got a day to myself, a rarity!

Excuse the issues at the start of this recording, it all adds to the character of it!!

UPDATE: No sooner than I had posted this, storage exceeded! Oh well looks like I'll purchase that subscription a bit sooner, just when I am trying to cut back on the darn things.

I'd not heard of Boombox. I've used Soundcloud for years, but never actually paid for it. I do rent a web server, so there ought to be a way to host audio on that.

Come to think of it I have one too that I use for my regular website nicklewis.blog. Saving money is key. I can just use IPFS still. Loads of options.
