Trying to be more productive with my days.
It's not so much a new years resolution as a better mindset.
Our days are short enough from the time that we get up in the morning. Get two kids out the door to school, travel to work, put in a shift and then travel home. Pick up the kids again, dinner and bed.
That leaves very little time for me to accomplish much on a day to day basis.
It's only a couple of free hours in the day and I also want to spend some of that with my wife chatting and unwinding after the daily rush.
Spending 30 minutes of the day on social media might seem like nothing and compared to a lot of people's use is nothing but it could be 20-25% of my actual spare time in the day. It sounds a lot worse when you factor it in like that.
It's not that I'm giving it up totally because we're all a little addicted but it's more about focusing on making gains with the little free time that I have. Putting that 30 minutes into writing a post and gaining a little more HP. Putting it into splinterlands and gaining a few extra cards.
Tonight I'm playing soccer and gaining some more fitness. Also knowing that I'm gone for over an hour this evening I'm using my morning coffee time to write a post and keep up my consistency for 2026. It won't always work out and I missed out on Friday's post due to a date night but that was a bigger priority at the time.
We went to see an Irish comedian Neil Delamare which was a great laugh and a handy night out since he was in the nearest town saving all the hassle of going to Galway for a change. Spending time with my family is always going to be at the top of the list and then everything else filters in after.
It all comes back to my life goal of financial freedom. We've been talking about it more and more lately to see if it's feasible to step back from work a bit.
Between the two of us we could take a reduction in wages and it wouldn't effect our lifestyle much at all. Just a bit more care in where the money goes to.
We've gone past the baby's stage of life so when our daughter starts school next year it will be a huge reduction in day care.
I've gotten a large batch of solar panels installed which by May should cover all electricity costs for the year ahead.
We did the house, marriage, renovations, upgrades over the past two years so have no big expenses coming down the line.
This is the most important time to be around when the kids are young and have a lot of time off from school.
It's all coming back to building wealth and being productive with my time now so that I can have more time and freedom in the near future.
It's just a pity that crypto prices can't seem to make any steady increases which would help a lot with everything.
