This weeks Splinterlands purchases.

Another week and another chance to build my Splinterlands deck. There is never enough money to buy all of the cards that I would like to fill out my deck but every week that I can earn rewards means that I can add a few more cards that aren't already in my collection.

The game has expanded so much over the past seven years that it's hard to keep up. I will keep stacking cards but haven't even touched my land since they changed the structure earlier this year.

In a perfect world I would have unlimited funds and a completed deck but I wouldn't even like to put a price on a complete deck at this stage after so many editions.

Someday it might happen in the right market conditions and a huge hive pump but at the moment it's all coming form ranked battles, SPS interest and now tournaments which are a nice little earner.

I've been slowly building up my deck this year card by card depending on market conditions but I picked up a few nice ones that I've been watching for a while.

Firstly there were a couple of Summoners.

Ilthain.
With return fire as it's main ability this is a very useful card in ranged rule sets. Any card that returns a specific attack and can be amplified gives you a huge advantage when that ruleset is restricting every other type of card.

Owster Rotwell.
That brings me to another similar card which has caused me a lot of pain in magic only rule sets. The same as above it returns every attack and has won a lot of matches for my opponents so it's one that I have wanted for a while but at $26 it's a steal. It used to be about $50 and well worth it for the win rates.

Then I added a few other cards to round out the buying.

Bramble Pixie.

Uloth Dhampir

Then a silly gold card just because it was on sale. Half the price of the next model and only a few dollars more expensive than a regular foil.

The gold cards are expensive but if you can add a few of them into your battle line ups then there is a nice 10% SPS bonus when you win that adds up over time. If you can use even more of them then the bonus stacks up and becomes substantial.

The gaming market is a funny beast especially at the moment with this extended bear market. A bear market which shows no sign of breaking out regardless of how well Bitcoin has been doing over the past year.

All we can do for now is to stack as many assets as possible and be in a good position if our bets ever do take off again. Splinterlands is one of the few web3 projects that has lasted any length of tie and deserves some respect for that. Very few projects in this industry last even two years so the fact that they have lasted 8 and still moving forward with a strong community says a lot.

A lot of that i feel is due to Hive lasting so long and having such a dedicated community and while some people advocate moving the game to anewer shiner chain with more grants I don't think we would have survived this long had the team made that move. None of the other hyped up games have so why would we be any different. All that would have happened is that the early adopters would make a nice profit selling out their early splinterlands cards until the projects crashes and takes everybody holding with it. In my opinion.

So while we are still here and still growing on Hive I will keep adding to my deck and to my SPS holdings.

Try for yourself.

If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.

Consistency over time always wins slow deck building is still progress, especially in a game built to reward long-term strategy like Splinterlands.

Everything in crypto and life comes down to consistency.
Turn up every day, build a stack and then keep multiplying it.
