Europa League Final.

Manchester United V Tottenham Hotspur
21st May in Bilbao.

This is going to be good.
As a United fan i was watching the last two legs where Man United managed to win 7-1 on aggregate which seems impressive but it was a lot tougher battle than it looked on paper.

United have had their worst season in decades, similar to Spurs as they prop up the bottom of the premier league.

15th V 16th would be a relegation battle in league terms but somehow, against all the odds, against all logic both teams are going to meet in a major European final.

I'm still confused how they got past the quarter final with the amazing 3 goals in ten minutes comeback. It's been a hell of a ride this season in Europe.

But it is so important that they win this final for the club and for the future of this team.

United have the makings of a serious team but only if they have champions league football next year and can hold it together.

Combine that with the quality of player they will be looking to sign and that changes dramatically with champions league football.

Spurs are in the exact same position. A bad season, manager problems, a weak side. They need Europe just as much as United but have no pedigree of winning trophies.

It's going to be a cracker.

Luckily I'll be on honeymoon that day in Dingle so it will be easy to find a good pub for watching the game in.

It's not been a great time to support United over the past few years but it would be great to see them take home a big trophy and have a better chance next year with a full squad and momentum.
