Another season over.
And it seems like the seasons are also running out at this stage.
We don't have very long left in the latest card editions and there is still some way to go before i get to finish off the entire set. and I do like this set of cards.
Compared to most of the other more recent sets I find myself using these cards a lot in my current battles whichsays a lot about them.
Not so much the legendaries which i have been cursed with doubles of. I have pulled enough legendaries to complete the set twice over, burned some and kept some and still have a long way to go before i can fill them out fully.
The epic cards however are very strong with their new abilities. I have almost completed that set with just three cards still on level five which i should finish before the edition is over.
I find that halfling refugee is a great card for so many types of battle at just one mana but five attack power and healing. Especially any battles where you can have melee monsters attack from various positions.
Arachne weaver is a bit overpowered with corrupted healing. It's so hard to beat a team where they can all get healed every round. In my opinion it's a bit too strong of an ability and not one that i would like to see more off. Too much positive with no downside. At least with Shock trooper and Khazi Conjurer they have a downside to balance their extra attack power which puts the choice on the player whether to risk the all out attack or not.
I'm only 17 cards off maxing out my rare collection so that's nothing to worry about. It's just a matter of hitting the right cards now as i open all of the chests and will hopefully get a few extra from moving up the levels as well.
I find myself using Dark arborist quite often for it's magic voids and the Chaos Adjutant for it's random magic attack. Dragon egg forager has a powerful opportunity attack as well making it a valuable dragon card.
Most of these are multi ability cards giving them a big edge over the original cards in battle and making them must haves to stay competitive going forward.
Even if you look at the common cards they all have 2-3 abilities making them extremely strong in any battle.
It's something that the team will have to look carefully at going forward that they don't keep trying to out do the previous version and that they don't keep coming up with new abilities. There is plenty of choice there already to mix and match existing abilities and i would even prefer if they went two years between new card sets to give players a chance to buy the new cards and to max out the rewards.
It feels now like there is no break between editions and that it's a constant stream of new cards and abilities that we can't keep up with. I'm very happy with the development of the game but i just wish that they would slow down with the cards.
I'm not sure exactly how many seasons that we have left but i think that i read 3-4 before the end of the current batch of cards. Now it's just a matter of trying to find those last few cards so that i don't have to buy them from the market at a later date.
Try for yourself.
If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.

Great reflections, these powerful new cards are fun, but a slower release pace would definitely help players catch up and enjoy them more fully.
