What Truly Drives Success?
Yesterday I came across this video on TikTok where a CEO was being interviewed. She was asked to share that one thing that has kept her business thriving and what she said was that she always makes sure to hire people who know more than her in her line of work.
And her reason for that was the fact that smart and hardworking people never make it to the top, mostly. Because they’re always overthinking and looking to achieve perfection and those are the kind of people every employee looks out for. Those who will build their business for them while they put them on a not so good salary because they’re mostly okay with that.
Growing up, we were told that education was the key to success. And then along the line we were told that hard work mostly guarantees success but I beg to differ on both of these points. This is because I’ve seen people who have worked their asses off day and night and still have nothing to show for it. The world has totally changed today and whether we like it not it’s still going to continue changing. It’s no more about doing things the hard way, it’s about doing things that smart way.
Aside being smart, timing and placing yourself in the right places at the right time matters a lot. I know someone who has been able to accumulate huge sums of money for his business and build good connections all because he knows where to be, when to be there and how to get there. You don’t need to pay 5,000 dollars for a table at an event just to meet big people. Sometimes you just need to meet one person and the rest would be history. It’s more about who you know and not what you know these days .
These days, making it in life can be as simple and ABC and as difficult as going to the moon. Whichever situation you currently find yourself in is sometimes a reflection of how you go about things. From today, play smart, act right and position yourself well. But don’t forget to work hard because everyone story is different.
all images belong to me.
Being smart is a good success driver.
Right!
I hope her employees heard that and will advise themselves and renegotiate their salaries.
😂😂I don’t think she meant it in a bad way. And seeing how rich she was, I bet she’s paying them well.
