Hello movie lovers,

I hope you’re having a great day. It’s funny how me watching this historical movie today coincided with a conversation I had with someone during the day.

With everything happening in this world, I’m so shocked that people still have time to fight over some stuff. I haven’t been really active on social media these days but today, I saw news about an India/ Pakistan issue. And I’m like again?

After watching so many historical movies about the Indo- Pakistani war, I’ve come to understand and learn a lot about these two countries. Honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around some of the reason behind why countries go to war. I mean, why would you wage war on each other at the expense of innocent people.

Well, let’s dive into this Indian historical movie I saw today.

THE PLOT

Udham Singh, an Indian revolutionary who had been in hiding for a long time finally come out of hiding to seek revenge on Michael O'Dwyer, Punjab's lieutenant governor.

In the early nineties, India was under oppressive British rule and Indians were fighting for their freedom day and a night. On 13 April 1919, over 20,000 Indians gathered peacefully at the Jallianwala Bagh and during that period, general ordered his men to own fire on the people leading to the loss of many lives.

Scarred by the turn of events, Udham Singh journeyed all the way to London to seek revenge after years of planning and plotting. He finally managed to have his revenge by firing a shot at general O’Dwyer which he didn’t survive from.

After firing the host at the general and two others he was with a a gathering, Udham didn’t even bother to escape since he had achieved his goal after so long. He was imprisoned and later hanged to death. This action of his has been in the history of India since and it is thought to be a sacrifice he made for India to gain its freedom

MY THOUGHTS AND RATING

I’d rathe this movie an 8/10 because it’s not really my kind of historical movie. I love to learn about the history of other countries but mostly the good parts. I had sad scenes and stories which would get me moody.

But if you wish to learn about the history on any day, you should see this show.
Enjoy you day!

This must be interesting and I do love Indian movies about history of war. I actually learnt a long time ago how Indian and Pakistan are like enemies and I watched different movies then. It was always a great time watching.
