The Time We Were Not In Love: Late Love Is Still Love
Trust you’re having a great day. Today, I bring you good news. This week, we have moved from seeing history movies to watching Korean drama which will make us delusional.
Lately, I’ve been bored so I decided to see a movie. That’s how I landed this Korean drama on YouTube which I’ve been binging for days now. I don’t know what kept me glued to it but I guess it’s the fact that I was dying to find out what happens at the end. It’s one you’d love so let dive into it.
Oh Ha-na, a 34 year old lady who works as a marketing lead in a big firm finds herself caught between her career and her love life. Growing up, she had always dreamed of how she would grow up and marry in her twenties, start her own family and grow old with her husband. But now, she’s a thirty four years old lady who just got dumped by her young boyfriend at work for a younger lady in the same workplace.
On the other hand, we have flight attendant Choi Won, who is also about the same age with Oh Ha-Na. These two have been friends for seventeen years and counting. At this point, they had grown to become more like family, being there for each other through the good and bad days. But, what Oh Ha - na doesn’t know is that Choi Won has had feelings for her since they were younger. He would go every length to keep her safe even though he always tell her they’re just friends.
After so many failed relationships, they both just decided to live the days as they come by. But Oh Ha-Na’s ex husband to be shows up all of a sudden after many years after he failed to show up on their wedding day leaving her heart shattered into pieces and embarrassed on her wedding day. He left with no notice or explanation whatsoever only to show up out of the blue on a normal day.
Choi Won, who has loved Oh Ha -na for the past 17 years does his best to protect her at all costs. He is always there to cheer her up, fights for her, protects her and whatever you can think about. Will she realise that the love she has been yearning for, for so long has been right in her face, next door and always by her side? You’d have to find out.
I’d give this movie a 10/10 even though the episodes are actually a lot. The whole plot was great as the movie dived into the importance of family, friendships and relationships and how to find a balance between all these and our work lives also.
The movie also highlights on the fact that love doesn’t always have to come early. We should learn to live and love the life that we have, not force things and just let things play out. At the end of the day, after so many failed attempts to date, the two friends come to realise that what they had been looking for was always right there, they had just refused to acknowledge it.
This series is one I would totally recommend because it would always keep you in suspense at every stage. You should give it a watch in your free time. Do enjoy the rest of your day.
A 10/10 movie, that's very rare. I guess you must have really loved it. I doubt I'll ever watch it, but I can't help but picture how it ends already 😂
