The Silent Teacher: Life’s Lesson That Spoke Volumes
I’ve been in the educational system for as long as I can remember. I started schooling at the age of one and I must say, I’ve had to learn, unlearn and relearn so many things throughout my educational journey. Sometimes I even learnt too much from my point of view. However, school didn’t teach me a lot of things when it came to real life. School to some extent fro me was all about gaining knowledge, building my network, making friends and exploring. But my eyes really opened when I finally left the university.
In a way, I was scared to leave the educational system at long last because I didn’t know if I was going to survive the outside world. All I knew till that moment was to be in school and do other basic stuff everyone could do. I didn’t know what life outside of school looked like but I had to embrace it and go out there to see what the world has in store for me. I finally graduated, started working and that was when life hit me very hard in the face. It wasn’t all a bed of roses.
I was an adult, having adult responsibilities and it was in that moment I really understood my parents because being an adult isn’t easy. I faced so many challenges in their first few months I started working because it was a different schedule altogether for me. I would over work myself and get home very late. With little to no rest at all, I’d have to show up the next day ready to conquer the world. But soon, I started to get a hold of things. I understood that the work wasn’t for me and I needed to do what I was employed to do which means not doing others jobs for them. Since then, life has been good for me.
The one thing I wasn’t taught in school and had to learn the hard way was that hardwork doesn’t always pay in this life. You need to couple your hardwork with smartness. Try to work smart most of the time rather than work hard because everyone out there is trying to outsmart you. I’m saying this because when I entered the working space , I didn’t know I was being outsmarted by others and that left me with little to no time to explore other passions of mine. When my eyes finally opened and I put an end to that rubbish, I finally started to enjoy life outside of school.
I explored a lot of thing, pursued things I wanted to and did more than I can imagine because I was playing smart while working hard. I didn’t leave room for anyone to think I was stupid enough to be played. However, there are special instances where you need to play the fool for the bigger picture. But aside this, being smart these days takes your farther than you can imagine because the streets don’t really care about you. Everyone is out there looking out for himself so you have to also keep the same energy or young at kicked out of the game. No one teaches this in school so know it now and use it to your benefit.

School is definitely not limited to the walls. It extends beyond them. 🌺
That’s right.
Smartness plays a pivot roles in attaining success in life and that's one of the life lessons i have so learnt. Thanks for sharing.
Well said, thanks for passing by.
You have to be smart if not life will throw a lot at you and you wouldn't even be able to control it.
Work hard and smart.
That’s very accurate.
Thanks for passing by.
When you said hard work doesn't pay.
I think I understand what you mean, if I am to pick between hard work and smart work, I believe everyone would pick working smart.
People are there to outsmart you if one is not careful, and that's a fact.
Very true. Most hard workers are still struggling out there.

If working hard alone works, then those labourers who work from morning till night should be among the richest in the world, smartness is indeed needed as well...
Really, some people work their lives away and have nothing to show for it.
Whoever says being an adult is easy needs to be asked questions, I only wanted to become an adult because of the freedom I see them enjoy but I never knew there was a lot more being an adult.
😂😂you don’t even have freedom as an adult because your problems alone are enough to hold you hostage
