The Hobby That Time Stole
Growing up, I’ve always been the curious kid. I always wanted to try my hands on new things and do stuff out of the usual school stuff I was used to. I made it a point to attend events, training and other gatherings, especially ones where you can get the chance to learn a skill. It was through these events I developed the passion for so many things which cut across various fields.
If there’s one thing I’ve always wanted to do since I was a child, it was to be able to sew my own clothes just like I wanted them. This was due to the fact that I always struggled with clothes I ask others to sew for me. There was once I needed a dress sewn for me for a very important event. I sent my measurements and everything. Now tell me why the dress arrived late and to make matters worse I couldn’t even wear it because it was a real definition of what I ordered vs what I got.
I thank God for the good people around me, I got to take time out and learn how to sew. It wasn’t easy but I did learn it. The part that kills me now is how I barely have time now to sew my own stuff. I get home very exhausted and all I think about is what the next move is. Even with my skills and passion for sewing, I still have to resort to using the services of others to get it fits done. Somewhere between deadlines, responsibilities and daily survival, I put it down and never really picked it back up. It’s been so long I still wonder though, is it a goodbye, or just a pause until life slows down enough for creativity again?

Life no go slow down ooo. Abi maybe na another life sha. No be so we still Dey elementary school back then and now we are here amidst life responsibilities. It choke. You are doing well. You just have to try get a balance of your life and what you are also passionate about doing.
