The 29-Hour Day: A Gift or a Trap?
I’ve always said that 24 hours a day isn’t close to enough for me. You might think I’m wasting the day away or I’m not managing my time properly. But honestly, between my work life, social life, and other aspects of my life, I’m left with barely little to no time.
And this little time on my plate is mostly being split between rest and personal development not forgetting the extra stuff I have to do because I didn’t she v much time during the day for. My schedule always happens to be packed to the core. That just how it’s been for as long as I can remember. Everyday, I try my best to clear things up to I can get the time to do other stuff for myself but I guess this is the life I chose.
Can you believe I didn’t even have the opportunity to spend the December holidays last year because I was working 24/7. Well, I wouldn’t say I didn’t like the fact that I was working on something I’m passionate about, but there were days I just wished I didn’t have to wake up and go back to that same thing again. I just needed sometime off which I really didn’t have.
If I should have 5 extra hours in addition to the 24 hours I have on a normal day, I’ll first thank God so much because only God knows what that would mean to me. 5 hours isn’t something small, it’s a lot of time for me to fit in some stuff I’ve been always wanting to do. First thing I’d do is to make time to rest within that period.
Next, I’d make sure to learn a skill or skills which is something I’ve always wanted to do, especially in the field of IT. I think most of that time would be used to develop my skills in this field because I would not want to be left behind in this fast paced world. I know you’d probably say I’m going to end up using these extra 5 hours to work again but this isn’t skit work, it’s an investment towards my future and who I envision to be in a few years to come.
The sacrifices we make now and today would always and surely pay off in a few years to come. So, why not make those sacrifices so we can all be happy in a few years time.
all images belong to me.
I also want to learn an iT skill but it all requires money. So we all have different perspectives
Some of these courses are actually free.
Thanks for inspiring me. Sacrifice is key for me here.
You’re most welcome
Nhaji + work =perfect combi.
Girl! I thought you’d even rest with the extra hours. You’re still thinking of skills? Worker of the year?😂 🫡
😂😂I will rest when I die.
The extra hours are obviously a trap, you can't overwork yourself so hard.
For me instead of adding time,it should be managed and utilized.
That’s true
