Swiping Through Life: The Quiet Revolution of Convenience
Till date, I still wonder why people think one has to suffer in order to live a good and comfortable life in todays world. I know parents who make their kids suffer when they could help them without any hustle just because they suffered as kids. Life is meant to be easy and if you have the means to live a comfortable life, go for it. There’s really no award for suffering in life and no one achieved anything from that.
As an individual, I value convenience over so many things because why would I go to some lengths for something I can just do easily without any hustle. For example, imagine having to grind tomatoes and pepper with a stone when there’s a blender at home. No one even uses an earthenware bowl these days unless it’s necessary because we as humans have come up with ways and technology to make things easier for ourselves.
The main goal of the research and all of that going on in this world today is to give us convenience in our daily lives. Why do you think AI came about? It’s not to take our jobs or whatever people think, it’s to make our lives easier. But the problem comes in when we relax too much for AI to do everything for us.
The world is moving at a very fast face today. We can all attest to the fact that time runs so fast these days you barely have time to catch up. So, why would one not want or choose convenience in a fast paced world? Someone might argue that convenience has made us very dependent and lazy and in a way, I’d say it’s true. There are things the older generation used to do which todays generation knows nothing about and can’t even find their way around to some extent even if we were asked to do it. Equally, there are also things today’s generation knows which the older generation knows nothing about. It goes both way.
Convenience is good and anyone would have to be questioned if they denied or didn’t want convenience. Life is meant to be easy and so we have to make use of the things around us. Look around you, make use of what you have and live comfortably , not lazily.
