Soft Launching a New Me

Before the year 2025 ended, I spoke to a few close friends on a few things I thought I needed to change about myself. I thought it was a big deal but to them, it really wasn’t that much of a big deal.

Regardless, I still wanted to be a better person for myself and those around me because no one wants the same old version of you all the time. Sometimes an upgrade is very necessary. One of the things I wanted to work on was seeing things from other’s perspective. I’m that kind of person who always wants to share ideas with others. Most of the things I think about, I consult people around me to get their point of view also. But there’s something you didn’t know of- I would listen to you, but I’d most prefer to hold on to my point of view even if I knew I was wrong.

I’d like to believe this was due to the fact that I understood their points, but I still wanted to hold on to mine because I thought I was right. I’ve been working very hard on that until something happened recently. I had a discussion with someone on a particular topic and it had me thinking so much even after we parted ways. Immediately, I called my friend because I was finally starting to see things differently. We spoke a lot about this topic and I told my friend that oh, I think I’ve been seeing this and this all wrong and that I thought that it was rather supposed to be this way and that way.

When I tell you my friend was in awe, I’m not even exaggerating. They literally told me that I’ve finally graduated from that stage of my life and my life was going to be a lot better. And honestly when I say it has, it really has. These days, one thing I do is be extra open to every thought or idea someone brings to the table. You’d really be surprised by how much you find out just by doing that. And this has been a real game changer for me if I’m to be honest.

This year, I want w of us to try to take a step back, look at the things we need to work on in our lives and take the steps. There’s a lot of growth waiting for you, you just need to take the first step.
