Not Every Hill Is Worth Dying On: Navigating Conflict with Wisdom
One thing you should know about me is, there’s always a 0.001 percent chance of someone having an argument with me cos on a normal day, you wouldn’t have me talking to you. I love to mind my business all the time because for some people, engaging with them makes them think they have the right or stage to disrespect you. And I’m not the one to give you that front to prove your disrespectful traits.
I’m one big talkative on the daily basis but you’d only find me yapping around those I’m comfortable with. I hardly talk to people I don’t know aside when it’s for business because what are we even going to talk about. But yeah, I do talk to my family and close friends a lot. I could even spend the whole day on phone with them if I had the chance. But sadly, I don’t.
As individuals, we all have different views on various issues which means that we are bound to disagree as well as agree on some stuff. And in most of our disagreements, we sometimes tend to drag things until they get out of hand on some occasions. I’ve seen people have arguments and eventually the whole thing broke into a huge fight which in the end ruined the relationship between these individuals.
I love having thought provoking discussions with people but once I sense things are getting out of hand, I try my best to tone things down a bit or just step out of the whole discussion. There are various levels to it when it comes to arguments and it all depends on the parties involved. Some arguments can turn out nasty but if the parties involved take the hint and tone things down, everything ends on a good note and some arguments too are just supposed to be normal ones but we always have those people that tend to add petrol to a small fire.
Arguments are good if you ask me, but one thing you should know is to not start or get into heated arguments with women because we mostly are always right and leave the battle victorious. However, generally, once I sense an argument is not really worth it yet it’s getting heated, I’d just be the bigger person or just let the other person take the wheel. Eventually, they’d read the room and drop it. But then, that’s not always the case because some arguments need to be had, especially in instances when you know the other person is totally wrong and needs to be corrected. Some issues are sensitive but if there should be an argument on them, I’d fight to my last breath because why not. But on a normal day, I’d just let everything slide.
I value my peace of mind and I’m not ready to put it on the line all in the name of a mere argument. But sometimes , I’m ready to hang it out to dry all day long.
I hope you enjoyed reading this, thanks for your time.

I value peace as well, that's why like you I don't ever engage in any form of argument, I respect anyone's opinion, and I expect same, that's why am only comfortable discussing with people I know very well
That’s a great move. Peace over anything.
You are doing what should be done, our peace of mind is very important. Some time you need to leave even if you are right.
That’s very true.
This was such a relatable and well-articulated post! I love how you balanced assertiveness with wisdom. Knowing when to walk away from a pointless argument is such an underrated skill, and it truly takes maturity to prioritize peace over ego. I'll admit, it is something that I struggle to do myself.
It’s a step in the right direction, you’ll find your way around it soon.
