My Blockchain Hustle & My Government’s Stance

It’s more than obvious that our world today has evolved so much to the extent that we are looking at a future where everything will be technology based. I didn’t know anything about cryptocurrency until a few years ago and this is because in my country, when you talk about cryptocurrency we all assume it to be a scam.

Yes! Many people have been victims of internet fraud through social media and even cryptocurrency. Once, I heard a story about how one young man gave out his money to a trader to buy BTC for him all for him to never hear from his so called plug. From what I heard, it wasn’t a small amount of money our brother had a mental breakdown. From all these happenings related to cryptocurrency, one will surely not want to have anything to do with it. With time, my perception about crypto changed and as I learnt more and more each day, I came to embrace it with open arms.

I was really surprised to hear that cryptocurrency has been banned in Nigeria. I heard the government was looking at banning it but I didn’t expect it to happen this fast. I believe that this is going to have a negative effect on the country’s economy which already isn’t something to write home about. Our brothers and sisters in Nigeria don’t seems to be happy because it feels their government doesn’t have their best interest at heart.

I’ve not heard of anything like this in Ghana. From what I know, crypto is not legal in Ghana and it’s also not illegal. Majority of the youth in Ghana are more involved in crypto. That’s where most people make their money, through trading and all of that. It also serves as a good investment for anyone looking to make more profit on their money. Each day, there are at least 100-150 people in Ghana looking to learn more about the crypto world. This should tell you that the youth is finally learning to embrace decentralisation.

When it comes to my life on the blockchain, I really don’t have any problem because my country is not constantly trying to pull me down through making rules against cryptocurrency or even worse, banning it. My activities on the blockchain are not hindered and I’m able to trade any token anytime I want. Who knows, thing might change soon after all the noise about our anti lgbtq+ bill dies down. We have more things to worry about as a country and I think the government should make it a point to legalise crypto in our country because it’s going to be a big move for us. Most of the well to do countries we know of are where they are because they think ahead and when you look at it things, all these countries have come to accept decentralisation and legalised cryptocurrency in their countries. Legalising crypto in Ghana will be a very great decision by our government if it is to come true, most of our youth would be geared towards decentralisation which is a win for us all. A win is a win and decentralisation is really the way to go.

I wish our country had better understanding on how crypto helps people. Well it's well though

It's not only in your country o
Among many others, I also thought crypto was a scam 😅
Crypto can do a lot for a country but seems our countries haven't yet see any yet.

We have finally seen the light and changed our mindset about cryptocurrency being a scam.
I hope our governments see the light too.

It's good to see Ghana not taking drastic action like our Nigeria government did, cryptocurrency is the future and all African countries should try and embrace that future

Just yesterday I was telling my friend how someone is doing well and making other investments through trading. She went ahead to tell me the person is into fraud. Ah , I was shocked but I quickly had to tell her it’s not. I didn’t expect that she would still have this mindset at this time
