Integrity in Short Supply: A Personal Encounter with Dishonesty

The past few weeks have bend crazy for me because only God knows what my eyes have seen. I always say this world is very weird but someday somehow, I thought I had seen it all until recently. Because tell my why people out there are always trying to outsmart others just for nothing.

A little back story. A while back, I asked my friend to help me get something from the capital city and send it up north to me because I thought things would be way cheaper there than here. Everything was set, my friend got it and sent it to me. A few days later, I knew this wasn’t a good guy because there were petty problems here and there which I couldn’t overlook. So what we bought had to be set back to my fried to return it to the person we bought from. Only for us to send it back and we hear so many stories. Long story short, we got less of the money we initially paid. For something we didn’t even use.

Mad cannot even begin to explain how I felt. Because just sending something across the country costs enough and someone tries to cheat you in broad daylight after all this stress. Nah. I really wasn’t having it because it just didn’t make any sense to me. But my friend asked me to let it go. I am sure we have all fallen victim to fake things being sold to us or things that are of low quality being sold ti us at exorbitant prices. When I think of how someone can try to cheat his fellow human, I’m always baffled because where our integrity as individuals?

We are not all the same but at least, I expect that we all have a conscience to know between right and wrong. You and I are always being cheated in the market but we tend to over look it because we believe it’s a minor and normal thing. But until when will we call such people out? Are we waiting till they try to cheat us dry before we speak up. I’m not tolerating that anymore and you should also. It’s high time we started pushing people towards the right path.
