If I Could Get One Gift This Christmas…

Christmas is a season of love and appreciation. It’s a season that comes around once every year and everyone, the air is filled with joy in happiness because we get to celebrate the end of the year together in good health, we get to have some holidays while also spending time with our friends a family.

I am always super hyped up for Christmas because the holidays are what I always crave for. What more can I ask for if not two to three weeks of being indoors or going out to have fun. I am not a Christian but where I come from, we all live as one. During our Eid festivities, we involve our Christian friends and so during Christmas, they also involve us and we all get to spend time together also.

Man, I remember those days during Christmas when my neighbors would bring us big boxes of Piccadilly biscuit and crates for fizzy drinks. Sometimes they complimented it with rice and other stuff. It felt so good getting the stuff, but now that I’m older, I think our happiness was beyond us receiving all those goodies as kids, it’s also probably because we felt included.

Now, I’m way older but I still get to spend Christmas with the people I love. I do receive Christmas gifts also. And when it comes to gift ideas, now the gifts we give are way different from those we receive during childhood. We are the adults now, surprisingly. And so if you wish to gift someone during this season, the first suggestion I would give you is to get them foodstuffs if you can . This season is one where the prices of food would skyrocket and most people would end up spending all their money on feeding visitors during this season. If you want to surprise someone, make sure to leverage on promotions going on now, get the a bag of rice or a can of oil and give it to them. It wouldn’t look much to you but to them, you saved them a lot of money which can help them at the beginning of the year.

Next, you could also gift them snacks and stuff for their kids if they do have kids. Kids can be very demanding during these periods and no parent wants to see their kids not happy during these times. Getting them a box of chocolates or a pack of drinks would put smiles on their faces and those of their kids and they would remember you for years to come.

For me, if you want to gift me, you can give me cash or a washing machine. That shouldn’t be much. I have no kids and I live alone. And do you don’t have to worry about any of these stuff. This Christmas, a washing machine would more than put a smile of my face, I would literally thank you for years to come because this would relieve me of a lot of stress. I hope Santa is listening to me. And on this note, let’s we what the coming days hold.
