Most people don’t truly understand the meaning of a secret. There are people out there carrying huge secrets they can’t live with. Sharing your secrets with others isn’t as easy at it looks but once it’s shared it’s no longer qualified a secret.

I see secrets to be a huge burden that’s why I always avoid situations where I’m going to have to keep a bad secret between myself and the person who told me the secret. There are some secrets that are just secrets and they can not cause harm to anyone but there are others that have a high likelihood of having negative effects on the lives of others or even putting their lives at risk.

We don’t just go around sharing our secrets with others. I’d like to believe the only time secrets are shared with others is when the individual can’t live with himself any longer. At this point, he knows that he is approaching his breaking point and therefore needs to let it loose and be free. You never know who your secret might get to because that person you trust with your secret has another person they trust and that’s how the cycle keeps going. This is why I say it’s no longer a secret because you would think only one person knows of it when in actual sense the whole block knows about it.😂

I’m not one to go around talking about others and spreading rumours. People talk a lot and as a sensible human being, you shouldn’t believe everything you hear on the streets. In a situation where a loved one shared a secret which could damage someone I care about what am I going to do? This is actually a though one.

I’d say it depends on the magnitude of the secret. Let’s look at it this way. Let’s say someone’s life is at risk. At this point, I literally hold the persons living and death in my hands and my next move will say a lot about me. I wouldn’t want to have someone’s blood on my hands and I don’t think I can live with it so , when it comes to secrets that hang on life and death, I’d do my best to save the person at risk without jeopardising the person at the other end. This requires a lot of thinking and proper tactics.

Another scenario would have to do with the issue of love. As we all know, love is a delicate issue and I bet you, you wouldn’t want to be caught between a couple in love. So, let’s assume my dear friend @yahuzah is cheating on his girlfriend and he confides in me. The best I can in a situation like this is to give him some advise after dissing him a bit.😂 I wouldn’t go to his girlfriend to report him cos she might probably be cheating as well.😂 I wouldn’t want to be caught in between love birds.😂 You’d think you’re trying to save their relationship but later on when they reconcile you’d be the monkey trying to ruin their relationship.😂 Be it friendship, family or whatever, I try to stay out of love issues at all cost.

The burden of secrecy is heavier than any burden one can carry. I prefer to keep my mouth shut at all times when it comes to keeping secrets but when lives are at risk, something has to be done about the situation in one way or the other.
