What a man can do, let him do. Why do I say this? You know how people say what a man can do, a woman can do better. I wouldn’t say I totally agree with this statement because if a man is carrying a bag of cement, can a woman do same? She would end up breaking her back because she’s not fit for that. From the beginning of time, even God created men and women separately. As it is said, we women were created from a man’s rib and that should even tell us something.

Everyone has their role to play in this life and society as a whole. In basic school, we were taught about the family and the roles everyone played there. The father was in charge of running the affairs of the house while the mother was in charge of taking care of the house and all of that. Even the kids were not left out in this regard. But guess what? Some of us women said we no dey hear word again.

A friend of mine recently told me that most women are men in this age and I laughed at what he said. But later on, I came to fully understand. I always say that being an independent woman is not easy ooo.😂 There are so many women out there who have taken feminism to whole different level. I don’t even think they fully understand the whole concept again. Now, we know that a woman’s place is not totally on the kitchen, but in the olden days it wasn’t the same. This should tell us that times have changed, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t throw our values out the window.

Did you know that some women are so brainwashed to the extent that they can’t even accept help from a man. And to make it worse, they even proudly state that they can never submit to a man. It’s more like if your husband says one, you’ll say 100. But in truth, this isn’t what feminism is about. Feminism doesn’t aim to make women men. All it seeks to do is to promote equality among both genders. For example, a woman and a man doing the same job deserve to receive the same pay. You can’t give the man more just because he’s man. They are all doing the same job and so there needs to be fairness.

At this point, I bet all the people who fought for the right of women are now thinking the made a huge mistake because of women of today. I’ve met women who talk to men anyhow just because they claim to be feminists. Once, one of my female course mates insulted a fellow male colleague in the midst of so many people and she didn’t even bat an eye. It was the level of disrespect and audacity for me. I can never do this in my life. I’m way above that.

Anytime I talk at work, my colleagues at work call me a feminist. I wouldn’t say I’m a feminist but I surely do and will standup for what is right. In as much as I’m also a woman and deserve equal right as a man does, I don’t try to rub shoulders with men. Everyone has their role to play.
