Baby Farm (2025): A Chilling Dive into Humanity’s Darkest Experiments
If there’s any genre of movies you’ll never find me watching, it’s Nigerian movies because I never liked them from the word go. Growing up, my sister used to always watch Nigerian movies and those days the movie industry was all about witchcraft and village movies which show some of the stuff going on in our part of the world. I’m not a fan of such visuals so I made a mental note to stay far away from Nigerian and Ghanaian movies. Along the line, the industry somehow collapsed and now, it’s magically booming once again.
If there’s a country making waves with their movies, it’s Nigerians and South Africans. I’ve seen the Nigerian series, Wura and I totally loved it. But what I want to share with you is a totally different series you’d totally love.
Adanna, a victim of teenage pregnancy finds herself in the streets of Lagos after she run away from home due to the treatment she was receiving from her family and the family of the man who impregnated her. Out of shame, she flees during the night to Lagos where she knows no one and has no idea what she’s doing.
Somehow, she manages to land a job as a house help in a big home while hiding her pregnancy all this while. Unluckily for her, her pregnancy starts to show and she finds herself being denied her job by her boss because she never mentioned her pregnancy. With no money, she’s also sent away by her land lady who claims no one sleeps in her house for free. With no one and no where to go, Adanna finds herself on the streets once again.
One day, she chances upon this sex worker who promised to take her to a place where she could get help and she did. Upon arrival at the NGO which was apparently going to help her, she meets the doctor who treats her very nicely and tells her what they do. What she was told was that she and her kids would be taken care of and if she wanted to give them up for adoption her kids would be paired with good families. So, she could chose to stay or leave. And if she chose to stay, she could leave anytime she wanted. With the kind of warmth with which she was received, she decided to stay since she felt safe there. Little did she know she had just sold her soul to the devil. This place was literally a prison where young women with no one were imprisoned and made to give birth after which their kids would be given to the rich who wanted to adopt children.
On the other hand, there’s the celebrity couple trying hard for twins and always ended up having miscarriages. Their last resort was to adopt twins from this NGO and Adanna was the best candidate in there to provide these twins.
Then, there’s the lady who just came from the UK to help her pregnant sister who had been thrown out of their home by their mom. With all these people in the cycle, will the lines draw them together and expose everything about the baby farming scheme going on? Would Adanna be able to save herself and her kids from this situation? You’d have to find out!
I’ve heard so much about baby farming schemes going on in my part of the world but never would I have thought it was real. This series was actually based on a real life story in Nigeria. Honestly , i was moved me to tears seeing what these young helpless grips had to go through just in their quest to survive.
I’d rate this series an 11/10 because no amount of rating can describe how good this show was. They touched every bit and piece of the plot making it look so real . There’s actually a lot to learn from this show because there’s a lot going on in our world today.
I’d totally recommend this show to everyone because it’s really worth it.
Seriously, I'm beginning to fall in love with Nigerian movies recently because of their 'comeback' with lots of bangers and I did love that.
I watched this movie last night and I must say, it was worth it. This movie would be the second time of knowing baby farming and I haven't heard it done in real life. Perhaps there could be but that would be the worst nightmare for victims like Adanna.
I must say, she was brave, too. The movie is so touching that I felt for the girls even though it was a movie. It was worth the watch.
I agree with you. It was really worth the watch.
I thought the title was weird, the storyline seem weirder. I've never thought something like this happens in real life, would be really scary for the victims.
It's an interesting storyline and I'm curious to know in depth what's about baby farming, hopefully the reality situations will be curbed and stopped totally.
You should see it.

I have seen this movie happen in real life during the course of my job as a social worker, it's an act that cuts across borders not just in Nigeria alone. I'd watch this.
Eiyaaa. Then we need to pay keen attention to these stuff now.
We need to really pay attention especially to those at the marginalized side of life.
