All the Effort, All the Reward: My Story

Everyone wants things to turn our well for them. It’s part of human nature, you know. But also, life doesn’t always go as planned and we most at times don’t prepare or are not ready for the downfalls either along the way or at the end of the road.

Hard work they say breeds success and we can all agree to that. But, I’d like to believe that it’s not always about hardwork sometimes because I’ve seen people put in so much time, energy and more in something only for it to turn out badly at the end of the day. Maybe you can say you need luck and the favor of God to be able to succeed in all you do. But also, I must say, these things have no format.

They say it’s better to be over prepared than underprepared. And in situations where we aim to achieve the best, I’d say it’s best to over work and over invest than not taking a step to do it. You’d never know how something will turn out until you give it a shot. People have had great ideas and initiatives but they’re still in their heads till today. Others also had ideas they thought weren’t the best but they still decided to give it a shot and today, they’re making it big and growing their tiny idea from years ago into a million dollar business.

If you know me, you know I like big things. Anything I aim for is big and no matter how small it is, I make sure to make it big. I’ve had my ups and downs in life and I’ve learnt so much from them. Growing up, I’ve always known what I wanted to do and I made sure to do it and do it well for the right result. If there’s one thing I’ve invested to much effort in because i wanted it to turn out great, it would be my education and my business. But it’s not that I really had a choice. The kind of life I want won’t come to me while I sleep on my bed like a princess. But, that’s not what we are going to talk about today.

Most people might think working on stuff is only related to things we want in life and all. But for me, I would say one thing I’ve been working so hard on and still am for a good result is myself. Looking back to a year ago, I found myself slipping. Not in a bad way, but I just wasn’t who I am today. I would say it took a lot of talks with the inner self in me to finally take that step to work on myself and becoming a better version of myself.

I wouldn’t say I’m a bad person, generally. But there were things I needed to work on. Things like how I made things get to me, how I related with people and myself, how I took care of myself, my relationship with God, friends and family, my finances, my habits, my health and many more. For an average person, i was doing well but to me, I wasn’t. So, I took a step to do better. Today, I’m living a much better life than I was a year ago. I’m growing , I’m more positive, healthier and happier. This isn’t actually where I want to get to but it’s a step in the right direction and I’ve experienced so much growth over the past year.

To me, this is something huge and I’m glad to have been able to do this for myself. I’m loving the results so far and this is the least I could do for myself.
