A Moment That Restored Hope

We all need someone in our corner whether we like it or not. There are those people in our lives that no matter what work always be there for us. No matter how bad we behave or act, they still believe in us and some of these people include our family and friends. There’s a lot of love in this world to give because we all have people around us who care deeply about our well being.
With that being said, let’s talk about kindness. In a world where everyone is forgetting about the basic traits of humanity, some people still chose to show up and show up at their best for others. I always try my best to be kind to people- those I know and don’t know. Because I know that it doesn’t really take much from me to be kind to a stranger or help them out. It makes me feel more human and happy about the fact that I was able to be of help to someone in need.
They say what goes around, comes around and we all know that is very true. The act of kindness you extend to someone today would come back to you in multiple folds. I have been in very tough situations and I have had help from people I didn’t even know. This should tell you that there is goodness out there. If there’s that one time I remember being in need in someone coming in magically to help me, it would be that one day, a few years ago.
On this particular day, I was very broke. When I say broke, I mean broke broke. I was managing the little money I had and I was on a very strict budget. Just a pesewa off that money and be in trouble. That day, I had to take a bus to work and back and with these buses, you need to pay for it once you sit. I knew the fare and I had budgeted for it. Only for me to pay and the next thing I know is the conductor giving me less balance than expected. And that’s how the conductor and I almost got into a fight because we all knew he was cheating me in broad daylight. But I had to let it go.

I alighted and had to board another bus to my final destination. I didn’t have the full amount but I still sat in the bus. It wasn’t much off the actual fate and I knew anyone would let it go. I sat in the bus and we set off. It was time to pay and as I made my way to pay, I was told by the conductors that someone had paid for me. Here I was, looking for the person only to find out they dropped already. This came as a shock to me. And till date, I don’t know who that person was and why they decided to pay for me. I just had to eventually conclude that it was God saving or from shame that day by coming through for me.

There are still Good Samaritans out there who have pure intentions of helping others. Just that these days the bad people are tarnishing the images of the good ones. Come to see that bus conductor will want to picture all other bus conductors bad.
You’re very right
Hahaha 😂 I love that moment seriously. Some people just love to show kindness naturally, not necessarily to those they know. That’s just their sweet heart.
Very tru
It's always heartwarming when I see stranger come out with genuine act of kindness and they inspire me to be a better person.
