This Photo Has A Story - LOH Contest #231

(Edited)

When I saw the questions set by @marivic10 for this week's contest, I made up my mind to go for question number one. Little did I know that it will take me a while to finally settle for one.

Here is the question:

Share a photo with everyone, one of your favorites, and tell us the story behind that day. Why is it so important to you? What does it mean to you?

I have tried to go over my photos several times, and it was almost becoming difficult to choose the one I would consider to be my favourite. That is not because I have so many to choose from, but rather that each of my photos have a unique story.

Among the photos and stories in my collection, the one I share with you below seems to scream the loudest. 🥁🥁🥁

This picture was taken on 31st January, 2025 when I attended my oldest daughter's convocation ceremony at Olabisi Onobanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

We had been looking forward to her graduation ceremony since she finished defending her undergraduate project last August, preparing for a big celebration and thanksgiving.

Each time I look at this picture, I can't help but thank God for this little girl's life, and the speed that God has granted her to become a graduate before her 20th birthday (she's already 20). Nor can I forget God's faithfulness in providing for her tuition and upkeep right from Nursery school till she finished her undergraduate studies.

This photo fills me with so much joy and serves as a faith booster when I think about her younger ones. It reminds me that God is still able to help me send them to school and fulfil my obligations as a mother. You can tell that she is over the moon with joy too, right?

Imagine a little girl whom I nursed, taught her first words, held her hands to trace and write... now stands beside me looking like my younger sister... who wouldn't be proud to share? 😍☺ @sharonquinnn, you've made your momma proud, bebe!

My husband was there, and so were two of my younger children. My second daughter could not attend as she had tests to write in her own school. The atmosphere was so joyful and lively, as many other families and friends were there to celebrate with their loved ones.

There's so much to say, but I lack the words. Just know that this post was written by one proud mum, call me Mama Graduate if you wish, hehehe 😉

Thank you for reading and leaving positive vibes always.

The photos are mine, taken with my Vivo 2015.
