Choosing private transport means being willing to spend more or in most cases covering the whole cost since private mode are usually on demand and have few or no passengers as the case maybe.

On the other hand, choosing public mode of transportation will allow you to cut cost and save some money, because there are many passengers on board to share the operating cost.

Additionally Some public transportations do receive subsidy from government. these subsidies helps to keep price tickets and operational cost lower, making it more affordable.
