Would you accept an all-expenses-paid trip to another country if it meant spending the holiday alone? Why or why not?

A lot of people would answer yes to that question without a second thought, for many reasons. Some people, especially introverts, value their personal space, hence the affirmative response. Others might prefer privacy to reflect on life, and the rest of the population might say yes under certain conditions they would set. I fall into this category of people. So, what are my conditions?

But what is an all-expense-paid trip in the first place?

Well, an all-expense-paid trip is a trip where all expenses are covered by the person or organization paying for the trip. This usually includes transportation, accommodation, meals, and any other costs associated with the trip, such as activities or entertainment. The person or group going on the trip does not have to pay for any expenses out of their own pocket.

This literally means that the sponsors will pay for your food, transport, and recreational activities.

Now I'll accept an all-expenses-paid trip even if it requires me to be alone during the holiday, otherwise known as solo trips, if I'll have access to a mobile phone, unlimited data, and the internet. As much as I appreciate my space, I won't go on any vacation without having access to a mobile phone and the internet.

It's not that I'm addicted to my phone or would perish without it—far from it. My phone is more like a mobile partner to me; I do many things, including work, as well. I can also talk to people online through the phone, so I don't get very lonely and bored.

Imagine going on a vacation alone and without your mobile devices. What's the essence of the vacation? just to rest? and not create memories?

You can't even capture pictures to serve as memories or come online to see what is happening in the world. Such a vacation would be very boring; it is like a total blackout from the world.

Why a solo trip with a mobile device and Internet access?

Using a mobile phone and internet access during a solo vacation has several benefits. One major advantage is staying connected with friends, family, and colleagues. With features like photo sharing and video calls, the mobile phone can help bridge the distance and provide a sense of companionship even when you're alone. Moreover, having a mobile device and internet access enables you to enjoy entertainment during downtime. Whether it's streaming shows, listening to music, reading e-books, or using social media, these activities help curb loneliness and enhance a more enjoyable solo travel experience.
