Life Knocked Me Down, But I Rose Again
Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well today. You see, life is full of surprises. Sometimes it lifts you up and makes you feel like you’ve arrived, then suddenly it throws you down when you least expect it. I’ve seen both sides, and honestly, it’s those moments that have shaped me the most.
I remember some years back when I tried to run a small business. I put in almost everything I had my little savings, my energy, even borrowed from a close friend because I believed it would work out. At first, I had hope, but things didn’t go the way I planned. Sales dropped badly and I started losing money. As if that was not enough, in that same period, my cooking gas finished, my phone charger spoiled, electricity bill came, and then my landlord came around asking for rent. It was like life was mocking me.
That period really broke me. I won’t lie, I felt regret. I kept saying to myself, “Had I known, I wouldn’t have done this business.” There were nights I couldn’t sleep, just staring at the ceiling and wondering how I got myself into that mess. But at the end of the day, crying didn’t change anything. I had to pick myself up slowly. I took on little hustles here and there just to keep going. That phase taught me that even when you fail, it’s not the end, it’s just another chance to learn and try again.
On the other side, I’ve also been at a point where life lifted me, only to throw me back down. I once got a job that I had prayed for a long time. When the offer came, I was over the moon. I celebrated, even took myself out because I felt I deserved it. Every morning, I’d look at myself in the mirror and say, “You did it.” That job gave me so much confidence.
But just when I was getting comfortable, the company started downsizing. Sadly, I was among those they had to let go. It hit me really hard. From being so happy and secure, I suddenly found myself back to square one, thinking about how to survive and pay bills again.
What helped me that time was reminding myself that no situation lasts forever. If I could rise before, then I could rise again. I spoke to a few friends who encouraged me, I kept myself busy, and I celebrated little progress along the way.
One thing I’ve learned is this: life will always test us. Sometimes we’ll be up, other times we’ll be down. But no matter what, we shouldn’t give up. If you’re in a tough time right now, just hold on, it won’t last forever. And if you’re enjoying success, celebrate it, but stay humble because life can test you again.
At the end of the day, what really matters is not how many times life knocks us down, but how many times we rise back stronger.

I read a users entry and he said life moves in waves, it goes and it goes down, if you are down you have to keep hoping that it takes you back up..
