Giving Back In My Own Little Way

Giving doesn’t always have to be something big. Some people think you need plenty money or to be very known before you can give back to the world. But from my own understanding and the little I’ve experienced, giving is not only about money or big things. It’s about care, support, and love, even in small, small ways

I don’t have plenty, but I always try my best to help people around me in the little way I can. One of the ways I give back is by mentoring some younger ones in my area. I may not be a professional mentor or teacher, but sometimes they come to me to ask questions about life, online opportunities, or even how to join Hive, and I always make sure to guide them well. There was one boy who was just wasting his time online, but after I talked to him about Hive and how he can grow from it, he started learning how to write and now he’s even more active than me on the platform. That one alone gives me joy

Another way I try to give back is by showing up for people when they need someone. Many times, we don’t know how much our presence alone means to someone who is passing through hard times. There was a friend of mine who lost his mum and people was not really checking up on him. I just decided to go to his house one day and stay with him, even though I didn’t have anything to give him. We sat and talk, and even cried small. After that, he called me later and said that my visit gave him strength. That made me realize that giving is not always about what you carry in your hand but what you carry in your heart

Also, sometimes I join my street people to clean the environment, especially when we are expecting rain. It’s not everyday, but when I’m around and free, I help. Some people think it’s not their job or they are too big for that, but I always believe that if we want a better world or community, it must start from us. The little things we do matters a lot

Even online, when I see someone new on Hive struggling to understand how to post or tag, I don’t ignore. I try to explain, even if it takes my time. I believe that the success of one person can bless many more, so helping one person grow is also like helping a generation

In all, I may not be rich or famous, but I give in the way I can. I don’t wait till I have too much before I give. A smile, a good advice, a listening ear, or even just presence, it all count. If everyone do their little part, this world will surely be a better place
