Where Reality Breaks

Elvira, plagued by insomnia, began to notice that the hall mirror showed things she never remembered doing—a smile for no reason, a grimace of anger. Each night, her image became more self-sufficient.
Searching for solutions, Elvira searched through old family newspapers stored in her grandmother's basement. She discovered yellowed slices related to a mental study conducted by Dr. Jekyll and his alternate self, Mr. Hyde. Reinaldo Méndez: examines private identity with "interactive" mirrors.
When Elvira heard the stories, she believed the speakers were addressing her personally. As the story of the experiment unfolded, she began to detect faint sounds from the opposite side of the mirror.
The night Elvira decided to break the mirror, she found a hidden chamber with walls adorned with numerous images of herself. When she looked around, her image had vanished from the mirror.
Since then, Elvira has lived without mirrors, but every time she feels she's being watched, she is aware that her other self is unconstrained in a corner where reality bends.
