Teachers vs Doctors: Who taught the first Doctor?
Teachers vs Doctors: Who taught the first Doctor?
From the title, your guess could be as good as mine. Hence, this topic reminds me of my high school days when I participated in an inter-class debate competition in school. I was in a junior class 3 debating against senior class 1. I was selected as the last speaker for my class, and I could recall how I spoke to the teachers as being important in society compared to doctors. During my high school days, I wasn’t good with words. I was rather a good writer than a good communicator. I remembered how I sat there clueless without any points to defend the topic. At some point, I was lost in thought, but suddenly, a point flashed on my brain, and that was, who taught the first doctor? That was the only point I had and my only point became an ice breaker. I remember that we won the competition that day. This topic has brought me to memory lane, and I am delighted to share my thoughts on this.
Among all professions, I think that teaching is the mother of them all. No one can be able to anything perfectly without a teacher. I believe that without a teacher many professions would not have come to light. So on this note, we can agree that it was a teacher who taught a doctor.
The roles performed by both doctors and teachers are important; however, without a doctor, I think people can still survive and treat some minor sicknesses and diseases, but without a teacher, there would be no transfer of knowledge of any kind. I know that people can also survive without a teacher but in a miserable state.
Looking at men in their state of nature, there were no doctors but people were able to treat ailments and live long on the earth. Treats to human lives were not sicknesses or diseases but fellow men. This shows that the human race can still continue with the presence of doctors.
Moreover, for there to be competent doctors, there ought to be competent teachers who would be able to teach people to become doctors. Therefore, we can agree that the teaching profession precedes doctoring.
Also, a teacher can be a doctor but most doctors cannot be a teacher. This shows how flexible and professional the teaching profession can be. Teachers are not limited to the teaching profession because they are exposed to a wide range of knowledge and information, hence they can fit into other professions and still make an impact on them all.
No matter how you scale it, putting teachers and doctors side by side, teachers will definitely weigh higher than doctors. For these reasons, teachers should be esteemed in society than all other professions.
