I was talking to a group of young people some days
back. I told them that a good percentage of young people’s problem is money. I told them that every young person out there in the street is faced with one issue, and that is money. Many young people think that money is their problem and that getting money would solve all of their life problems. I told them that money cannot solve their problems. They all laughed and did not take me seriously any longer. However, I told them that if money could solve problems, then there would have been no problems at all on the earth, and even the rich would not have problems in their lives. It seems that the more money someone has, the more problems such a person faces in life. I told them that at some point in their lives, they will make lots of money but they won’t know what to do with it. I don’t know how the obsession for money was sold to young people such that every one of them is out there pursuing money as if their lives depended on money. There is always time for everything.

There is a time that someone should pursue purpose and there is a time to pursue money. Many people, especially the young ones, think that the more they pursue money, the more money they will get. It does not work out that way. In fact, the reality is that most times, the more you pursue money, the more it goes far away.
Some so many people are so wealthy that they have no use for money. They do not know what to do any longer with money. These are people whose money has become so boring for them. As a person, whenever you reach the state that money has become boring to you, it is one thing that will keep you going and that is purpose. Understanding purpose is very critical in a person’s life. Knowing this will make life interesting for you. While others are feeling dissatisfied, you will be satisfied with what you are doing. So many people who make lots of money without living on purpose are bent on holding tight to money, and at some point in their lives, the feeling of emptiness will creep in, and they will begin to feel bored.

Many people are yet to understand that there is a life to live that is better than having lots of money. This mentality of wanting to have lots of money is mainly prevalent among poor people. They think everything about life is making money and living a comfortable life. Those with lots of money are feeling dissatisfied especially those living outside their purpose. Therefore, it is expedient that we seek to understand our purpose and also live by it so that when we start making money, we won’t be bored and end up leaving the riches behind to seek purpose at the wrong time.
Every young person reading this should know that there is a life better than just making money to live a comfortable life. Living in purpose is the key. When a person gets to the level where money becomes boring and uninteresting, the only thing that will keep him going is purpose.
