Long-Term Investment Versus Short-Term Investments. Lesson To Learn from Bitcoin's Aths
I have never been a fan of long-term investment because of certain factors; I am rarely involved in any platform that promises a long-term investment plan. As a result of this, I rarely make a good return on any money or resources I inject into any scheme. But recently I tried developing the character that will aid long-term investment because of what happened to me recently which I would love to talk about so others can learn from it. Before now I saw long-term investment as a waste of time and resources. However, to invest in long-term assets you need patience as a virtue. This is one character that I lacked. Beyond investment, I am the kind of person who lacks patience in everything. ‘This is a bad character’, many people usually tell me this. I saw nothing wrong in that until I later realized that patience is a virtue in almost all things. Some weeks ago, I participated in the x-empire airdrop and my allocation was so poor to the extent that the value was nothing to write home about. It was about $2 when it was listed. I was vexed at the outcome of the coin so I left it in my wallet. I never thought about it until some days back when I checked, the coin pumped to about $14. I was surprised at the extent to which the value of a coin could rise to such an exponential level. What I usually do is this: whenever a particular airdrop launches its coin, at that moment, I must ensure that I sell out the coin and get whatever value, the coin gives. This is a poor man’s mentality. Most of my friends who left those coins in their wallets are enjoying it because of the increase in value generated by those coins.
This happened to be my first time experiencing a bull run in the cryptocurrency industry. I have read about it and lots of people have shared their experiences I was prepared for it and the outcome has been interesting and rewarding. As the X Empire coin rose to about 50%, when the bitcoin was about to hit $90, a thought came through my mind about those who got bitcoin when the price was nothing to write home about yet they still keep it hoping for a better future of which they’re the ones enjoying the outcome of such expensive decision.
The truth remains that, long-term investment will pay more than short term if only one can exercise patience. Who would have thought that Bitcoin would hit $90k plus? Nevertheless, the bitcoin is aiming at another ATH which will exceed $100k. People should have a long-term mentality if they want to have a better return on investment. This is a lesson that I have learned from Bitcoin’s new ATH and the X’s coin.
However, it is worth noting that, not all long-term investments will yield profit. Some might run on a loss, while some might yield minimal profit, therefore one should do proper studies and research before, determining what type of investment, one should embark on.
