It is easier to fall from the ladder than to climb it.

This write-up is not about climbing a ladder or falling from it, it's about the struggle and stress experienced in the course of achieving success in life and how seamless it is to move from grass to grace. Life is structured in such a way that a man will have to pass through difficulties and hard times before getting to the peak of his endeavours. It is always heartbreaking when a man who has spent years of labour drifts to the base hence starting life afresh from scratch.

I met an old friend yesterday in a public vehicle. It all happened that I didn't notice him until he called my name, and when I turned to look behind, it was a very close friend of mine from my high school days. As we drew up, he was doing pretty well in his photography business. He was the first to buy a car among our peers. He was living comfortably. He was the first to marry and start a family while most of us were still struggling to survive. At some point, I travelled, and we eventually lost contact until I met him yes

Yesterday. From the look, I knew that all was not well with him. When I asked him about his family and his business he told me that everything collapsed. His business was gone as well as his wife who left him with two of their children. “How did it happen”? I asked. He said everything just collapsed in the blink of an eye. He said that he struggled to survive all alone. As a result of the shame, he had to travel to another city to start life from scratch. I felt bad about the whole situation. I just wish I could help him. However, I told him that the downfall of a man is not the end of his life, that since he had begun the process that he will regain all the things he lost.

Life can be funny most of the time. When you need an orange it can give you a lime. If only men knew that life is like a table, it can turn at any time. Today might be your turn tomorrow will be for another. It is always imperative that people guard themselves whenever they get to the peak of their career, because it will not take the same duration to get to the top to fall from it. Falling is easier and rapid.

Many people who had fallen from grace to grass did not imagine that such could happen; hence they lost their guard and suddenly found themselves at the bottom of their lives. Getting to the top is not an issue but remaining there is what lots of people cannot achieve.

Think about embarking on a mountain race. You will struggle to climb. You will need more energy and time. Meanwhile, climbing down is very easy. The same is true of life. Having this understanding, it is necessary to be careful with how you relate to people in your life journey because most of the time, if you fall, it will be the people who will help you to rise again.
