Food is the primary necessity of man, every other is secondary.

Good morning everyone, it's another week to engage the hive Ghana weekly activities. I must first of all commend the coordinators of this wonderful community for their consistency in coming up with interesting topics for adumbration. I am happy to be a participant.

Let me begin this by saying that food is the first thing all living things need in life. A newborn baby is first given food in terms of breast milk. Without food, no man can survive. Food is the essence of living and we can know that one has fed well because of his appearance.

Mobile phones are so insignificant a thing to be compared with food. Before the advent of phones, people had existed on the earth and they were living fine, they ate and lived happily. This is one of the reasons I can. I cannot afford to stay a day without food but with a phone.

What people do with their phones varies. Invariably, it's a medium of communication, they chat with friends on social media, they watch videos online and offline. They play music and games and probably they make money trading the financial markets and making content. An average user of a mobile phone does some of these things. However, when you're hungry, you lose the appetite to do all of the things listed above. I remember a time I was out of foodstuff and I was severely hungry. I lost my appetite for other things. But immediately I ate the next day, I felt like I was on top of the moon. This also shows how important food is to the phone.

For me, put me in a house without my phone, I can comfortably stay there and do other things, but not without food. We need food for survival and to think rationally as human beings.

Food is essential for healthy living

Without food, I cannot live a healthy life. So staying a day without food can cause sickness and diseases. Many years ago I was diagnosed with an ulcer and I knew the pain that I went through. I would not like to have this experience again.

Without eating food in a day I will be less productive

I cannot perform well in my daily activities without food. But without a phone, I can still be effective and productive at work. This is the reason that most organizations do not permit the use of phones on official duties.

We need energy to do things. And energy is sourced from the food we eat. A day without food is like wasting the day because nothing can be achieved by me.

Finally, I love food and not just all kinds of food but good food with great taste. Take away my phone from me but give me food, for as many days as possible.
