Does your teachers pension last for ever or does it depend on how much you draw down on it?

In my area, my teacher pension lasts forever, and if we work a full 30 years as a teacher, it can basically replace our income—assuming you can stick it out for that long! But you have to wait until you're 65 to start pulling it for that amount.

That is a great incentive but I suppose you have definitely earned it if you can stick out 30 years and make it to 65

It is. I don’t think I’ll last .
30 years or reach age 65. I’ve been doing this for 12 years, and it’s becoming increasingly exhausting, especially in special education. My classes have been getting larger and support has been less and less each year.
