It is indeed a completely ridiculous film and there are parts of it that weren't really even complete and they had to do things like overdub the dialogue or include things that didn't look quite completed. But i guess they were of the opinion that it was "good enough" and put it in the final cut anyway. Well, they made the right choice apparently because this iconic film went on to make a ton of money and become one of the most famous silly comedy movies of the 90's.

I consider that this film is one of the best definitions of what it means (in most cases) a film starring Adam Sandler, is one of those scarce films where the stupideces seem genuinely made to proceed by the actors.
