[EN/ES] Living Thread Sketch Exercise
We continue with the Pinterest challenge, you already know three concepts or words, Pinterest decides the drawing. In this case the words will be: portrait, flower, and fish. I will be choosing the fifth images that Pinterest shows me to use as reference for the drawing. You already know this is a practice, but we must have a finished drawing at the end of the session, which in this case will be 1h and 30 minutes. In addition, we must try to have visual coherence. We will use Photoshop as the drawing program, and it is forbidden to use any tool that makes our work easier, such as reflections or transformations. Let’s start drawing.
Continuamos con el reto de Pinterest, ya saben tres conceptos o palabras, Pinterest decide el dibujo. En este caso las palabras serán: retrato, flor y pez. Estaré escogiendo las quintas imágenes que Pinterest me muestre para usar como referencia para el dibujo. Ya saben esto es una práctica, pero tenemos que tener un dibujo listo al terminar la sesión, que en este caso será de 1h y 30 minutos. Además, tenemos que tratar de tener una coherencia visual. Utilizaremos Photoshop como programa de dibujo, y está prohibido usar cualquier herramienta que facilite nuestro trabajo como reflejos o transformaciones. Comenzamos a dibujar.
We start with the portrait, and it turned out to be a male portrait. I rarely draw male portraits beyond the characters I draw in anime style and with clear references, so we will try to make it look as good as possible. I will be doing the entire drawing with the same brush that resembles the pencil effect, it is one from the Kyle package that comes installed by default.
Comenzamos con el retrato, y tocó un retrato masculino. Rara vez dibujo retratos masculinos más allá de los personajes que dibujo en estilo anime y con referencias claras, así que vamos a intentar que quede lo mejor posible. Estaré haciendo todo el dibujo con el mismo pincel que recuerda el efecto a lápiz, es uno del paquete Kyle que viene por defecto instalado.
For the fish, I will use, as the rule says, the fifth reference, and I love it because it looks like one of those fish with a long tail and very ethereal shapes in its movement. I will try to capture that in my drawing. I first made a small sketch of the structure.
Para el pez, usaré como es regla la quinta referencia, y me encantó ya que es lo que parece un pez de esos con mucha cola y tiene formas muy etéreas en el movimiento. Trataré de capturar eso en mi dibujo. Hice primero un pequeño boceto de la estructura.
I made the fish completely in red, then I came up with the idea that since the composition has three elements, I would use three different colors for each line and leave all the messy sketch strokes underneath.
Realicé el pez completamente en rojo, entonces se me ocurrió la idea de que, ya que la composición tiene tres elementos, usar tres colores distintos para cada línea y dejar todos los trazos sucios de los bocetos por debajo.
For the flowers I did the same, I searched for flowers in the browser and chose the fifth one. It turned out to be a small lilac vine, and that is what I will draw, although I will do it in my own way and not following the reference directly. With the three drawings finished, I already have today’s challenge complete. It is not one of my favorites, but the day has not passed without drawing, which is what matters. Para las flores hice lo mismo, busqué flores en el buscador y escogí la quinta flor. Resultaron ser una pequeña enredadera de lilas y eso dibujaré, aunque la haré en mi forma y no siguiendo directamente la referencia. Con los tres dibujos listos ya tengo el reto de hoy completo. No es de mis favoritos, pero no ha pasado el día sin dibujar, que es lo importante. Gracias por acompañarme un día más dibujando.
