Con las vacaciones, la escuela Águilas de Fuego está organizando varios encuentros amistosos entre ellos mismos y delegaciones foráneas. El día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, uno de ellos.

El día martes 19 del presente mes, me fui caminando con mi hija, desde nuestro hogar hasta la cancha Mejía de Marigüitar para asistir al juego amistoso entre las jugadoras de dicha escuela, eran dos juegos entre las categorías U-12 A Vs. U-12 B y la U-14 Vs. U- Libre (Ferroscar), con el fin que las atletas estén en óptimas condiciones para las posteriores invitacionales que estarán jugando, así como los juegos Orientales y Comunales en nuestro estado.

On Tuesday the 19th of this month, I walked with my daughter from our home to the Mejía de Marigüitar field to attend the friendly game between the players of said school. There were two games between the U-12 A vs. U-12 B categories and the U-14 vs. U- Libre (Ferroscar), so that the athletes would be in optimal condition for the subsequent invitationals they will be playing, as well as the Eastern and Communal games in our state.

U-12 B, ambos equipos tenían jugadores mixtos, los atletas salieron a realizar sus respectivos estiramientos, que no pueden faltar en ninguna disciplina, una vez estando listo y en forma para la acción, a las 7 de la noche más o menos, el árbitro hizo el llamado a los dos jugadores al centro, pitando y soltando el balón, ambos saltaron en búsqueda del mismo, apoderándose del balón el equipo B, quiénes al instante anotaron la primera cesta del partido. Eso le dio ánimo a los demás jugadores para mantenerse activos durante este primer cuarto. El equipo A, trató de ponerse los patines para igualar a los B, pero no pudo, terminando este cuarto en 10-5 a favor del equipo B.

Inmediatamente, salieron a calentar las jugadoras de la U-14 (uniforme: camisa roja, blanca y azul) y Ferroscar (uniforme: camisa rosada con verde), después de que los equipos anteriores se saludaran. El juego en sí, comenzó como a las 8:25 de la noche, con el lanzamiento de la jugadora estrella Bárbara Poco quien jugó recientemente en los juegos donde Venezuela (Caracas) fue sede de la FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League 2025 – Américas 1, quedando ganadoras en la categoría U- 23, orgullo de nuestro pueblo Marigüitar. Al inicio de este primer cuarto, el equipo U-14 tomó el control del balón y tuvieron mejores jugadas en la cancha, a pesar de ser más pequeñas en edad, jugaron bastante bien. Aunque también las jugadoras de Ferroscar no le dejaron todo en bandeja de plata, lucharon por mantener a la par, terminando este cuarto en 15-11 a favor de U-14.

El segundo cuarto, estuvo candela pura, las jugadoras de Ferroscar dieron todo de su misma por igualar a la U-14, aunque ellas no se dejaron intimidar, siguieron con el mismo nivel, culminando este cuarto en 23-22 a favor de la U-14. Continuó el tercer cuarto con más intensidad, el nivel era admirable entre ambos equipos, exprimieron sus defensivas y ofensivas al máximo, este partido estuvo más cerrado, sin muchas oportunidades para llegar al aro contrario, a mitad de cancha era arrebatado el balón, cerrando el marcador en 30-28 a favor de la U-14. El último fue adrenalina extrema, aquí ambos equipos tuvieron la oportunidad de llegar bastante al aro contrario y lograr más cestas, a pesar de los intentos de las jugadoras de Ferroscar, no pudieron mantener el ritmo de la U-14, terminando el partido a favor de la U-14 con el marcador en 44- 39.
