A Merlion Statue Carving, A School Project
Hello fellow art hivers! First timer here, an inspiration to share my task for today which all I have to do was to carved a school project of my daughter were it is in Grade 9. And since it is already a deadline date for tomorrow, so I need to double time inorder to finished it for my daughter's school project in MAPEH, an art subject.
So I have to hurry inorder to pass it on time for her project. Since my eldest daughter Athena had a school project with regards to an art carving works, inspiration with there teacher through a Merlion statue which can be found in Singapore.
Which it was a coincidence that I had also a bit knowledge in carving, so immediately I was assigned by my wife to work with these art. Using with a laundry soap which can be found in the house inorder to make it.
So let me tell you the materials that I have used and techniques on how to make this Merlion soap carving. So these are the tools that I have needed:
•5 cm width X 8 cm length X 2 cm thick laundry soap
•carving tools ( a small flat chisel, small curved
chisel, small v-shape tool, small axe shape chisel, small concave tool)
•tracing paper
•nylon brush
•and a pen
Tips:
Lay-out first an outline of the image using a pen and a tracing paper. Extract the excess portion of the soap which not included in the design and then started to carve. And for the finishing touches, brush it with a nylon brush inorder to get the extra chips.
And this is it, presenting and sharing my little knowledge in arts. Which it really gives a little inspiration specifically to all who have talents in art most in carving, originally and proudly with my hand-made works.
So this is all for today, thanks!
