What is PHONICS?
🟣Phonics is connecting the Graphemes of the written language to the Phonemes.
🟣Phonics is a method for teaching children how to read and write English language.
🟣It is done by demonstrating the relationship between the sounds with letter or group of letters.
🟣 Phonics helps us write dictation words using sounds.

Well phonics are the sounds of alphabet,so many alphabets have more than one sound depending upon the conditions.
πŸ’œ More than 6000 Greek words are used in English language.
πŸ’œ < ph > make sound of /f/ in Greek origin. eg- phonics, phone, elephant, dolphin.
πŸ’œ < ch > words makes /sh/ sound. eg- brochure, machine, chef.
TYPES OF PHONICS:

  1. ANALYTICS PHONICS - Analytic Phonics is an approach to teaching phonics that involves students in analysing whole words or sentences for phonics elements rather than focusing on the isolated study of individual phonemes.
Teach either ONSET( Beginning sound) or OFFSET (ending sound)
  2. ANALOGY PHONICS - Focusing on rhyming words patterns like - snack- track
  3. EMBEDDED PHONICS - In this approach usually sounds are taught only if required and mini lessons are given.
  4. SYNTHETIC PHONICS - In this approach the term 'synthetic' refers to the process of synthesising or blending individual phonemes to form words.
