In fact, what is striking about this anime is the way the protagonist is introduced, as well as how she develops. The final denouement puts you in the role of the protagonist, who has gone through something so inhuman and horrifying that it is difficult to explain with words.

However, that's not all, since the nature of the monsters, the creatures that seek to wipe out humans, apparently, is something shocking. And I say this not only because of the unique design that each one has, but also because of the origin and the way of murdering and eating people that these beings of the abyss have. The danger and evil lurking in this seemingly peaceful town is clearly unavoidable. Yes, seeing our protagonist fight against these monsters may make us think or remember different works of the action and gore genre from which they have possibly been inspired, mostly because of the katana theme and the fighting style she has. But apart from action scenes, the anime has certain scenes that are pure terror, scenes that can completely traumatize you and that literally shocked me the first time I saw it. That's why, without a doubt, this anime has a very different level of terror than other anime of the same genre. It is a much more visual and bloody horror.

Hablemos de la protagonista, Saya Kisaragi, una chica aparentemente normal de preparatoria que vive en un santuario de un pueblo suburbano. Y no solo lo digo por el diseño único que tiene cada uno, sino también por el origen y la forma de asesinar y comer gente que tienen estos seres del abismo. El peligro y la maldad que hay al acecho en este pueblo aparentemente tranquilo es claramente inevitable. Si, puede que ver a nuestra protagonista luchar contra estos monstruos nos haga pensar o recordar distintas obras del género de acción y gore del cual posiblemente se hayan inspirado, más que todo por el tema de la katana y el estilo de lucha que tiene. Pero aparte de escenas de acción, el anime posee ciertas escenas que son terror puro, escenas que te pueden traumar por completo y que literalmente me impactaron bastante la primera vez que lo ví. Es por eso que, sin duda alguna, este anime tiene un nivel de terror muy distinto a lo que tienen otros animes del mismo género. Es un terror mucho más visual y sangriento.
