This insect belongs to the wasp family. It's also known as the yellow flower wasp. However, it also bears some resemblance to a bee. It's often found on flowers and is especially abundant in spring when the flowers are in bloom, as it typically feeds on nectar. It also has a venomous sting, though not the same as the sting of a typical wasp.
