Cymbopogon citratus
Lemongrass, or Cymbopogon citratus in Latin, is a plant in the grass family, often referred to more specifically as kitchen lemongrass. Kitchen lemongrass differs from fragrant lemongrass. Kitchen lemongrass is often used as an additional spice and in cooking spices.
The stems are picked, pounded until broken into pieces, and added to cooking spice mixtures. Its distinctive aroma makes lemongrass a popular cooking spice and is also cultivated in many regions.
The leaves resemble weeds and are covered in sharp, fine, and hairy scales. This plant typically grows in clumps, growing up to 1 meter tall in certain temperatures.
