Cookeina speciosa is a cup-shaped mushroom that grows throughout the tropics. It is commonly found in lowland rainforests. It belongs to the Sarcoscyphaceae family and grows on the trunks, branches, or stems of fallen trees found on the forest floor after decay source
It has a cup-like cap that is pink, though some are orange and red. The stem is white and has small hairs on the cup.
