Greetings!.

I have added one of my new findings and observations to the iNaturalis community. A unique and interesting type of wood ear mushroom.

Ear fungus Auriculariaceae is one of the jelly fungus groups that is included in the Basidiomycota class and has a unique jelly texture. Fungi that are included in this class are generally macroscopic or easily seen with the naked eye.

The mycelium is septate and can be divided into two types, namely: primary mycelium (mycelium whose cells have one nucleus, generally comes from the development of basidiospores) and secondary mycelium (mycelium whose constituent cells have two nuclei, this mycelium is the result of the conjugation of two primary mycelium or the union of two basidiospores). Auricularia auricula is generally known as ear fungus.

This fungus is called ear fungus because the shape of the fruit body is wide like a human ear (ear).

The texture is very flexible and this fungus is very easy to peel from where it grows if it is pulled out. This fungus also wilts very easily and dies quickly if exposed to the sun or high temperatures.

With the rapidly changing climate conditions here, this fungus can be said. Fast to grow and easy to wither.

The platform allows users to upload photos or videos of plants, animals, and other organisms, which can then be identified by a community of other users. In addition, iNaturalist also has an automatic identification feature that uses computer vision to help identify species.
