My recap on how to keep a community engaged after mint
Good day everyone, I'm making a recap on how to keep the community alive after mint. During the space a lot of opinions were given on how to keep a community on going, engaged after mint. I'll share the opinions here:
A speaker emphasized on having a clear expectations, the speaker made it known that so many communities in web 3 goes into extinction because they couldn't live up to the expectations. Community leader should a clear expectation of what the community should be, what the community represents and what they could achieve. He has to be realistic of what they should achieve and makes sure that the members are well aware. It is wrong to start a community without this motives. He should also be sensible to every member needs, make the environment conducive for everyone to air out their opinions.
Transparency was mentioned, as it bring trust in the community.
The leaders should try not to disappoint it's members by overpromising members with goals that are not viable.
A speaker spoke on partnerships. Partnership with other communities was mentioned as one of the many ways to the community active,an infant community needs other communities or platform for its growth. Emphasis was made on the difference between partnership and collaboration.
A speaker spoke on assigning projects and responsibilities to the community members. And also giving value to the members of the community, they should be recognized for effort and achievements, this will give room for growth and creativity. And it also gives members this sense of belonging.
Another important opinion was reward system. The community founder should be able to devised means of rewarding its members, this will help in getting more task done and help the community to grow. Although this rewards should not be done too often as it may lead the community into bankruptcy. So instead of just giving out rewards every time, members should be allocated tasks and when these are achieved, they rewards can be given.
Another opinion was Discord exploration. A speaker talked about a weekly engagement on discord, where they'll organize movies show, trivia questions and games. This helps the members of the community to interact more with themselves. Communities here in Hive such as the neoxian community and hive naija actively employs this method.
Physical events was also enlisted. Physical or virtual events in the likes of hive festival should be hosted by a community. This will help maintain a community.
Another opinion was leaders creating opportunities for members to give feedbacks on their thoughts and opinions, this could be done by allowing threads for feedbacks like it is done leo community, making it easy for their members to air out their opinions. This method is achieved only works by giving opportunity to be involved in decision making, creating room for members to be heard.
In conclusion maintaining a community and having retention is not an easy task, it involves a lot of hardwork, perseverance and commitment, the speakers had so many ideas and opinions that we learned and can put to use in bringing growth and engagement.
