RE: What's the world coming to?

Children really shouldn't have access to social networks until they are at least 18 years old and to the Internet only under the supervision of parents and teachers for school matters... virtual visits, book consultations and so on. That's my opinion. But we already know that the world is going at this unhealthy pace and it is creating serious health problems in children and there is this danger that you are telling us about. How sad that these things happen... I can imagine how devastated those families are.

I don't know if 18 is the right age limit, but there has to be some limits. The problem is, many platforms, that are asking for age verification have only one click measure and the responsibility lies with those applying or registering, so ... it's like non existent actually. You click I am 18 and the platform than blaming you for cheating.
Parents are busy most of the times and many have no idea what their kids are doing most of the times.
It's a really delicate matter and hard to find a balance, but something must be done.
