My 2-Day Walk To The Division Schools Press Conference 2024

Good afternoon, everyone.

I woke up late today because we have no more classes until after Holy Week and I have more time to visit here.

Yesterday and the day before that, I joined a competition about journalism with my schoolmates. This is the Division Schools Press Conference 2024, where young aspiring writers, broadcasters, photojournalists, cartoonists, and layout artists come together for a competition, and I was one of the delegates in our school. I am not one of the writers, but my teacher put me in desktop publishing. It was a little challenging because it was my first time joining an inter-school competition. I did not volunteer myself, but my teacher chose me in the computer category.

On the first day of competition, we were already at my school as early as 6 a.m. because the competition started at 7 a.m. in a different school. Our teacher hired a public jeepney as our transportation to go to the school where we're going to do the contest. It is a 15-minute ride there. In the morning, the competition includes feature writing, news writing, editorial cartooning, sports writing, and collaborative desktop publishing in English and Filipino for high school. In the afternoon, there is collaborative desktop publishing in English and Filipino for elementary, where I competed, online publishing in English and Filipino, and TV broadcasting.

Yesterday was the award ceremony in the same venue and I ended up getting second place and my school also got second place. I am grateful to have experienced this kind of competition and I will forever cherish it. I would also like to thank my teacher, who selflessly dedicated her effort to us.
