Hamster Kombat game built on the telegram newtork made a lot of us appreciate crypto better by using simple tasks to help us navigate the difficult crypto terrain with ease. Other games followed and built in line with Hamster's model. Though some of us could not earn as much as we expected after the launch of the $HMSTR token, we decided to take the interlude season more serious.

It was interesting to stumble the announcement on X that the Hamster Network mainnet is live. It read in part as follows:

We are excited to report on the launch of Hamster Network – the first-ever gaming-focused Layer-2 blockchain built on TON!
@hmstrnetwork will provide blazing-fast and scalable infrastructure for demanding decentralized apps and games. Crucially, it will enable this at negligible cost per transaction, allowing developers to provide a fully Web3-enabled experience through Layer2 build on TON.
📱 The network is launched in collaboration with TON who helped make this a reality. Telegram has been instrumental in accelerating crypto adoption throughout the world by bringing Web3 right into almost a billion phones through easy-to-use mini-apps that require no installation.

Hamster Kombat's launch of Hamster Network unveils a special season for Web3 gaming, introducing the first gaming-focused Layer-2 blockchain built on The Open Network (TON) as announced on February 25, 2025. The network, developed in collaboration with TON and Telegram, will provide scalable, low-cost infrastructure for decentralized apps and games, targeting Telegram’s nearly 1 billion users.

This launch coincides with Telegram’s growing role in crypto adoption, leveraging its Mini Apps platform launched in 2020 with TON and Tencent, to bring blockchain technology to mainstream audiences without requiring technical expertise. Hamster Network’s integration with TON’s Layer-1 is to ensure security and decentralization, while its compatibility with the Ton Virtual Machine allows developers to easily port existing dApps, potentially accelerating Web3 gaming innovation.

The blockchain launches with special features, including a wallet, canonical bridge, and dedicated decentralized exchange, positioning it to support a wide range of gaming and DeFi applications. This development builds on Hamster Kombat’s rapid rise since March 2024, when the Telegram-based tap-to-earn game gained 200 million users.

I am happy to have opened my Hamster profile on Telegram to see that I have mined 43,862.6 Diamonds with about 148.87 Diamonds. I am anticipating the next move of Hamster Kombat.

Hamster Network’s focus on testing through initiatives like Hamster Boost could attract developers and gamers, and this can positioning it as a key player in the blockchain-based entertainment sector.
