Today, in Cumaná, the city where I live, it is 30°C and the heat is unbearable, but I am a faithful believer that there is no heat that cannot be fought with a cold beer. the That is why I got dressed up and went out to the liquor store to buy the perfect antidote for this temperature. In this liquor store I found a beer that is relatively new and I had only tried it two or three times in my life.

present to you the new golden Solera, although I am going to call it yellow (yellow is my favorite color and beer, after water, is my favorite beverage). This beer was released for a limited time last year (October 2024) and belongs to the special edition beers of Empresas Polar. Along with the green Solera and blue Solera, the yellow Solera or Solera Kölsch is from Polar's premium portfolio.

I didn't know that the Kölsch type is a type of beer that was born in Germany and “is considered a hybrid because it is fermented at high temperature and then left to settle at low temperature”, according to Wikipedia. It also says that it is ideal to drink this type of beer in tall, thin, flute glasses. So I did not hesitate, and I looked for it to enjoy and better appreciate its flavor.

The yellow solera has a perfect 5.5 ° alcohol and a pleasant fruity flavor (a slight apple flavor). It has ingredients like water, malted barley, cereals, hops, carbon dioxide and stabilizers. And it has a value of $1.20. As it is a limited edition, it is not available in all liquor stores.

I feel this beer has a nice sweet taste and an excellent golden color, bubbly, refreshing. The smell is also different. All these characteristics are ideal for those who do not want the bitter and dry conventional beers.

Although I only had two Soleras Kölsch, they were enough. In the end, the heat passed and life became cooler. It's amazing how drinking beer helps you relax, cool down and even feel that Saturday has the colors of a Saturday and not another day. So let's relax and have a good time....

30 degrees and a couple cold ones always reminds me of vacation. Still only 14 Celsius up here today so I will enjoy a couple draft pints and wish I was there.
