Beauty is simple, not complicated/ Kiss #147

I understand that when we reach a certain age, we should take care of ourselves twice as much as we did before, but that care does not have to mean a tragedy or a hole in our pocket.
For example, one of the things that strikes me today is the amount of money people spend on beauty and anti-aging products, when nature and our own human system have the ability to regenerate our skin, our body.

I am more about using natural products like aloe vera, ginger, lemon, pineapple. For example, weekly I use unrefined coconut oil on my hair, on my body and daily I take a teaspoon of oil on an empty stomach, and I feel that this routine makes me feel good.
This lifestyle has created some enmity with people who prefer to spend a lot of money (that they don't have) on pills, injections and creams. They do not accept that I can find so easily in nature, what they get by paying.

Many times I have told her that there are simpler and cheaper ways to achieve what she wants, with natural products like honey, coconut milk, the use of ice and chamomile, she just accuses me of being an “herbalist” and a cheapskate who doesn't like to spend money.
But one day, she and I went to a party and some people we met thought I was younger than her. Obviously this made my friend feel bad, but rather than question her overly superficial and consumerist behavior, she questioned our friendship and chose not to talk to me anymore.
I feel that we are so bombarded with advertisements of products to achieve eternal youth, the perfect beauty, that many people (especially women) live spending what little or much they have to achieve what they see in the networks. I think that beauty and youth are false. True beauty has to be above fake eyelashes, tattooed eyebrows, fake hair, botox. The real beauty is in smiling and that your eyes shine, that your skin turns red as if kissed by the sun, that you smile, even if you are missing teeth, with your soul, from the inside. Because true beauty is cheap and simple: it comes from accepting and loving ourselves. It doesn't cost anything and it doesn't come in any package. It is within us.

How sad that your friend (I don't know if she is still a friend) took that attitude after that occasion. It's true, with age one has to take better care of oneself without it having a financial impact. There are many accessible and simple solutions that help a lot. I believe that time invested with balance in this matter is a good investment. I liked your conclusion. Regards @nancybriti1
I feel that beauty is very misunderstood these days: if you are more plastic, the better. The reach of beauty at any cost. Thanks for your comment, friend. Regards, @aaalviarez
I'm sorry that she valued your friendship so little. But of what you write of her, she seems to have a lot of values misaligned. I agree with you, I think simplicity and natural "remedies" are best. Don't really know how much these "anti-aging" products really work, anyway. Can you imagine if someone actually found something that turned back the hands of time properly? They'd be the richest person on Earth... Coconut oil and aloe and ginger are the best choices for sure, because when you feel good, you look good. It sounds simple, but we make it complicated, no?
I'm sorry about your friendship but glad to see you're in this confident, beautiful place <3
Thanks for your #KISS
We enjoyed it 😉

As in the movie The substance, in which for the pursuit of beauty, people are capable of anything and in the end become a caricature. I am surprised by the number of women who buy and buy beauty products to hide what they really are. And no, she is no longer my friend and I am very honored to be in this community. Thank you for your comment and welcome, @ honeydue

Thank you very much for the welcome, friends, and it's a pleasure to be here. Regards
Simplicity works in beauty as the less is more. My mom is around your age and though she also applies the same principle. I don't think relying on natural remedies are a cheapskate cause afterall, a lot of beauty products out there also includes those ingredients. Sometimes, the only difference is that they are packaged aesthetically 😄
Exactly! That's what I always say. Our grandparents or ancestors took care of their skin naturally and if we look at asian women, they also use nature as a friend for personal care. Thanks for your comment. Regards
Eyes are the doors to the soul and there is where the real beauty of someone is Nancy. And your eyes tell it all!
I smell coconut every night 😎
Thanks for that compliment! You know I've never colored my hair? Using coconut oil helps to maintain the natural color and give it shine. So yes, I always smell like coconut. jajajaaja Thanks for your comment and hugs, @tengolotodo!
I love coconut, and I have coconut shampoo, conditioner and bodywash! Yes I believe it, you have gorgeous hair and coconut works on you!
